In bid to facilitate the football fans, who wanted to watch the FIFA World Cup live, the authorities allowed residents and citizens of the GCC to enter Qatar without Hayya card.

Ministry of interior has said that they can enter Qatar via its airports as of December 6.

However, it added that those who wish to attend the upcoming football matches will still need the card.

Motorists who wish to enter Qatar through land borders will be allowed from December 8. However, they are asked to apply for entry permit via ministry’s portal 12 hours prior to their travel. There is no fee for entry permits.

Qatar has changed entry rules for soccer fans, so that they can enjoy the world cup matches of the knockout stages.

The Hayya card grants ticket holders free access to the bus and metro services on match days and entry into Qatar and the stadiums as well.
