The wait is over. Finally, WhatsApp has provided its users the most awaited feature – the ability to edit messages.
“For the moments when you make a mistake or simply change your mind, you can now edit your sent messages on WhatsApp,” the Meta Platforms Inc-owned messaging app said in a blog post.
How to edit WhatsApp messages
The new feature, to be rolled out in the coming weeks, allows users to modify or edit their messages within 15 minutes of hitting the send button.
You can access the new WhatsApp function by long-pressing the messages and then choosing “edit” in the drop-down menu.
The modified message will carry the label “edited” and will not show the edit history.
WhatsApp rivals apps such as Signal and Telegam already give the option to edit messages. Twitter introduced the ability to edit tweets to some users in 2022.
