Flying car to take off for first public flight at GITEX Global 2022 in Dubai

GITEX Global will be held from October 10-14, featuring 5,000 companies at the World Trade Centre

The first flying car will be launched at GITEX Global in Dubai

The wait is over. The UAE is all set to host the world’s largest tech show GITEX Global from October 10-14 at the Dubai World Trade Centre. The largest ever edition of Gitex 2022 will feature 5,000 companies. Apart from several amazing technologies set to be displayed at the mega event, GITEX will unveil the world’s first public flight of X2. The car will be launched with support of Dubai Chamber of Commerce.

The leading tech company XPENG has chosen the emirate of Dubai to launch the eVTOL flying car X2 at the GITEX Global 2022.

XPENG designs, develops, manufactures and markets intelligent mobility solutions. The flying car has two seats and equipped with autonomous flight capabilities and an intelligent flight control system. It is the latest generation of flying cars which is developed by XPENG’s affiliate XPENG AEROHT.

The car has been designed with low-altitude city features, reaching a maximum flight speed of 130 kilometers per hour. According to President of XPENG, the X2 produces zero carbon dioxide emissions during the flight.

“We’re delighted to be holding the first global public flight of the XPENG X2 at GITEX GLOBAL 2022, showcasing our pioneering in-house R&D and proprietary manufacturing capabilities to push the e-mobility industry forward,” said Gu, who was speaking at GITEX GLOBAL’s mainstage conference programme about mapping the future of mobility.

The GITEX 3.0 edition features seven tech themes: North Star Dubai start-ups, Ai Everything, Future Blockchain Summit in association with VARA, Fintech Surge, Marketing Mania and two sell-out new launches of GLOBAL DevSlam and X-VERSE.
