Pakistan’s Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) has arrested renowned TV presenter and PTI’s dissident lawmaker Aamir Liaquat’s ex-wife Dania Shah on charges of uploading a controversial video on social media.
Pakistani media reported that Dania Shah was detained by FIA Cyber Crime Wing Lodhran, Punjab province, during a raid on her home. The action was taken on the complaint of Aamir Liaquat’s daughter, it said.
According to Dania Shah’s mother, Salma Bibi, officials entered their house and arrested her daughter. She said that she went to the concerned police station but the officials there did not give any information about Dania.
Aamir Liaquat was found dead in his home in Karachi on June 9, 2022 under mysterious circumstances, which shocked the Pakistanis all around the world.
Earlier, Liaquat’s widow also demanded her share from the inheritance and announced to move court but her demand was rejected by the famous TV host’s first wife and children.
Aamir Liaquat was a famous TV host, scholar and member of Pakistan’s National Assembly. He later parted ways with Imran Khan’s PTI. His third marriage with Dania Shah turned a nightmare for him when his former wife leaked some of his private videos.
Aami Liaquat was a frequent visitor to the UAE.
