Arada has announced the launch of Akala, a new wellness-oriented hospitality and residential concept, with its first development to be built in Dubai.

The project aims to combine advanced wellness technologies with residential living in what the developer calls the “world’s first precision wellness destination.”

Akala Hotel & Residences

Akala’s flagship site, Akala Hotel & Residences, will be located between Downtown Dubai and the Dubai International Financial Centre (DIFC). The Dhs5 billion development features two towers, each 220 metres tall, and includes 534 branded residences ranging from one-bedroom apartments to a multi-level penthouse with views of the Burj Khalifa.

The buildings will share a central podium housing wellness-focused facilities, including a spa, fitness centre, and clinical health services.

Sales for the project begin on Saturday, May 31, at a two-day event at the Museum of the Future. Completion is scheduled for the end of 2029.

Focus on wellbeing

Designed with LEED Gold and WELL Silver precertification, Akala integrates a wide range of features to support residents’ wellbeing. These include advanced air and water purification, circadian lighting, sustainable materials, and smart home technologies. Additional wellness enhancements such as EMF-conscious design, acoustic optimization, and organic sleep systems are also part of the offering.

Residents will have access to facilities including a high-performance gym, indoor lap pool, spa with thermal circuits, and movement and mindfulness studios.

A dedicated clinic by Everwell will offer boutique healthcare services focused on diagnostics, preventative care, and specialised treatments such as stem cell therapies.

Global wellness concept

“With Akala, we are creating a sanctuary that reflects how people want to live today, where peak health, personal performance, and rest are all part of the same experience,” said HRH Prince Khaled bin Alwaleed bin Talal, Executive Vice Chairman of Arada. “With an array of wellness facilities and services that is unmatched anywhere in the world, Akala is designed for the next generation of global citizens who want to live better, happier and longer.”

Ahmed Alkhoshaibi, Group CEO of Arada, added: “Akala represents the convergence of two powerful global shifts – the rise of wellness as a central life pursuit, and the demand for service-led, lifestyle-driven residential experiences. Dubai is the perfect place to launch this concept, and we’re proud to introduce a new kind of brand from the region to the world.”

Future expansion plans

In addition to its Dubai debut, Arada plans to expand the Akala brand internationally, with projects in development across the Middle East, Europe, and Australia. Each location will offer access to a global wellness network and exclusive programming.

The Akala concept also includes a members’ club model, allowing residents and guests to access services and curated experiences across the brand’s future global locations.
