As UAE residents seek cooler escapes from the summer heat, Moscow is emerging as a new favourite — now more welcoming than ever, thanks to a dedicated Muslim-Friendly Guide, Arabic-speaking tour centers, and exclusive welcome packages tailored for Middle Eastern travellers.
Tailored travel campaigns for the UAE
“We are constantly working on making Moscow an appealing destination for travellers from the UAE,” Regina Gleim, Head of the International Cooperation Division at the Moscow City Tourism Committee, told Dubai Newsweek in an interview.

“Our efforts include regional promotional campaigns, participation in major travel fairs like the Arabian Travel Market, and strategic collaborations with UAE tour operators,” Gleim said.
Cultural exchange plays a vital role in this effort. In 2024, Moscow hosted the UAE Culture Days, attracting over 300,000 visitors.
“We’re also working closely with UAE-based bloggers to share first-hand travel stories and make Moscow feel more accessible and familiar,” Gleim added.
Muslim-friendly tourism services
To support Muslim travellers, Moscow has launched a Muslim-Friendly Guide detailing prayer facilities, halal restaurants, and culturally respectful attractions.
“We want our guests to feel confident and comfortable navigating the city,” Gleim emphasized.

Arabic-speaking staff are now available at five major tourist centers, and over 100 certified guides offer multilingual services.
A dedicated Welcome Pack provides exclusive deals on accommodation, wellness, dining, and tours, while the Discover Moscow portal and Snapchat channel help visitors plan trips in English.
Summer in Moscow: A cultural escape
During the warmer months, Moscow hosts the “Summer in Moscow” festival, which includes over 1,000 open-air events such as concerts, theatrical performances, and family-friendly activities.
“It’s a refreshing alternative for UAE residents looking to escape the summer heat while staying engaged with dynamic cultural experiences,” Gleim said.
What UAE travellers look for?
UAE tourists often seek luxury, cultural experiences, safety, and family-friendly attractions. Top destinations include Red Square, the Kremlin, Bolshoi Theatre, Tretyakov Gallery, and modern districts like Moscow-City.
“There’s growing interest in both historical and modern landmarks like Zaryadye Park, Europe’s tallest Ferris wheel, and the new Moskino Film Park, Russia’s largest open-air film complex,” Gleim said.
“With over 140 parks and natural reserves, Moscow remains one of the greenest megacities — something UAE visitors deeply appreciate.”
Family, couples and business travel
“We welcome a diverse mix of visitors — families, couples, solo adventurers, and business travellers,” Gleim noted.
Family-friendly attractions include Dream Island Park, Moscow Zoo, and numerous amusement parks and interactive museums.
Corporate travel from the UAE is also on the rise, with a 22% increase in MICE tourism. Moscow’s infrastructure and strategic connectivity are making it a key destination for business events in the region.
A Year-Round Destination
While summer brings long daylight hours and outdoor festivities, Moscow also attracts winter tourists with snow-covered parks, holiday markets, and traditional seasonal festivals.
“Moscow is ready for guests from the UAE — not just with open arms, but with tailored experiences that respect their culture and preferences. From halal dining and prayer spaces to women-only wellness centers, we’re committed to making every visitor feel at home,” Gleim concluded.
