Motorists in Sharjah will soon be eligible for discounts of up to 35 percent on traffic fines, provided they settle their penalties promptly.
The discount scheme will come into effect from April 1, 2023 and will offer a 35 percent reduction to motorists who pay their fines within 60 days of committing the violation.
For those who miss the initial 60-day window, there is still an opportunity to receive a discount on traffic fines in Sharjah.
Sharjah traffic fine discount
Motorists who pay their fines between 60 days and one year after the violation will be eligible for a 25 percent discount.
The Sharjah Executive Council announced this measure during a meeting held on Tuesday.
The decision also stipulates that if a violator pays their fine for a vehicle impoundment violation more than one year after committing the traffic offense, they will be required to pay the full amount of the fine without any discount.
