Ras Al Khaimah Transport Authority (RAKTA) marked a historic milestone by inaugurating a groundbreaking land trip service that connects Ras Al Khaimah with the picturesque Musandam region in the Sultanate of Oman.
In collaboration with the Musandam Governorate, this service is set to operate exclusively on weekends, offering commuters and tourists two trips per day.

Ismail Hassan Al Balushi, the Director General of RAKTA, emphasized the significance of this service, stating, “The launch of this service aligns perfectly with the UAE’s leadership’s vision to strengthen tourism ties between the two nations and facilitate the seamless movement of both residents and visitors.”

He further elaborated, “This initiative mirrors RAK Transport Authority’s overarching strategy for 2023-2027, which is focused on promoting public transportation and advocating shared mobility as a sustainable, dependable, and secure transport solution.”
Bus Route
The route for this service commences at the primary bus station in Ras Al Khaimah and encompasses seven stops along the journey, concluding in Khasab within the Musandam Governorate. Notably, the ticket prices have been designed to be affordable, catering to the diverse needs of the community.
Mohamed Hashem, Director of the Quality and Operations Control Department at RAKTA, affirmed, “We have worked in close coordination with relevant authorities throughout the UAE to ensure the smooth operation of this service, with a keen emphasis on reducing travel times for passengers.”
To commemorate the launch of this remarkable initiative, Musandam Governorate hosted a warm reception to extend a hearty welcome to the first-ever bus trip service connecting these two neighbouring regions.
