In a gesture to kick off the new year on a positive note, the Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) in Dubai has declared a two-day gift of free parking for motorists during the upcoming long weekend.
Free parking during New Year holidays
On the first day of the new year, Monday, January 1, 2024, residents and visitors alike can avail themselves of free public parking throughout Dubai. This move aims to add a touch of convenience for those celebrating the arrival of 2024.
Sunday’s regular free parking
It’s a double delight for motorists, as Sundays already offer a reprieve from paid parking in the city. Taking advantage of this existing policy, people can enjoy free use of paid parking spaces on the Sunday preceding the New Year’s Day celebration.
Multi-level terminals
It’s important to note that multi-level terminals are not included in this complimentary offer. Regular parking tariffs will resume for these specific areas starting Tuesday, January 2, 2024.
Three-day weekend celebration
Dubai residents are in for a treat with a well-deserved three-day weekend to usher in the New Year. January 1, being a public holiday falling on Monday, combines with the usual Saturday-Sunday weekend, providing a refreshing and extended break for everyone to revel in the festivities and welcome 2024 with open arms.
