Travel platform Wego has partnered with the Azerbaijan Tourism Board to promote Azerbaijan as a growing destination for travellers from the Middle East and North Africa (MENA), with a focus on culture, nature and leisure experiences.
Travel campaign
The campaign aims to highlight Azerbaijan’s mix of city life, mountain landscapes, wellness retreats and cultural heritage. It will target travellers from the GCC and wider MENA region who are looking for destinations that offer variety and easy access.
Azerbaijan is being promoted through key locations including Baku, Shaki and Shahdag, along with nature-based retreats, local traditions, outdoor activities and food experiences.
Destination highlights
The initiative will showcase different aspects of the country, from urban experiences in Baku to mountain escapes in Shahdag. It will also highlight cultural sites in Shaki and Azerbaijan’s growing culinary scene, along with family-friendly activities.
The campaign will run across Wego’s digital platforms through curated content, destination storytelling, influencer partnerships and seasonal travel promotions.
Mamoun Hmidan, Chief Business Officer at Wego, said: “Azerbaijan continues to attract travellers from across MENA thanks to its unique blend of cultural familiarity, diverse experiences, and ease of travel. From vibrant city experiences in Baku to scenic mountain landscapes and wellness escapes, the destination offers something for every type of traveller while maintaining a sense of connection and comfort that many visitors from the region value.”
Florian Sengschmid, CEO of the Azerbaijan Tourism Board, said: “We are pleased to collaborate with Wego to further strengthen Azerbaijan’s presence among travelers from the Middle East and North Africa. The market continues to show strong interest in destinations that combine culture, nature, leisure, and accessibility. Through this partnership, we aim to bring greater visibility to the unique experiences visitors can enjoy across Azerbaijan throughout the year.”
The collaboration combines Wego’s regional travel data and reach with the Azerbaijan Tourism Board’s destination strategy. Both sides aim to position Azerbaijan as a year-round travel option for visitors from the region.
