The Dubai Centre for Artificial Intelligence (DCAI) has launched GenDubAI, an educational platform designed to help parents understand how children use artificial intelligence (AI) and guide them in using the technology safely.
The platform targets families with children aged 8 to 15 and is available in Arabic and English through a mobile-friendly website.
Developed in collaboration with the Community Development Authority (CDA) and Dubai Future Foundation, GenDubAI offers practical guidance on AI tools, privacy, responsible use and the development of critical thinking and creativity.
How GenDubAI helps parents and children
The platform aims to make AI education part of everyday family life, encouraging parents and children to learn about the technology together.
Its content explains the opportunities and challenges of AI, introduces parents to its basic principles and tools, and helps children explore how it can support learning and creative activities.
The initiative also focuses on protecting children’s privacy and encouraging responsible digital habits while reflecting UAE values and cultural identity.
According to the organisers, the platform uses interactive content and activities that families can incorporate into their daily routines to encourage conversations about AI at home.
Part of Dubai’s family and digital agenda
The launch supports the Dubai Social Agenda 33 and the UAE’s Year of the Family, with an emphasis on helping parents prepare children for a technology-driven future.
Hessa bint Essa Buhumaid, director-general of the Community Development Authority in Dubai, said: “In Dubai, we believe that preparing for the future begins with people, and that empowering future generations with the tools of tomorrow must go hand in hand with awareness, values, and responsibility. With this in mind, the GenDubAI platform places families at the heart of the AI learning journey, transforming technology into a shared space for learning, dialogue, and creativity within the family.”
Khalfan Belhoul, CEO of Dubai Future Foundation, said the initiative would help parents guide their children as AI adoption and smart-device use increase.
“Knowledge of safe and responsible AI use is one of the greatest gifts parents can give their children to help them thrive in the age of AI,” he said.
Platform to receive future updates
GenDubAI is designed to evolve through the addition of new educational content, tools and learning pathways as AI technology develops and family needs change.
