Miral, the top developer of immersive experiences in Abu Dhabi, announced that Yas Island and Saadiyat Island saw a 83% increase in visitors this summer, making them must-visit spots for families and travellers worldwide.
Yas Island, known for its entertainment and leisure attractions, experienced a remarkable 72% rise in visitors from GCC countries and a 24% increase from India.
Hotels on Yas Island reported an impressive 83% occupancy rate during the summer, with a 29% boost in international guests. In August 2024, hotel occupancy reached 90%, highlighting Yas Island’s appeal for families looking for fun summer activities.
Saadiyat Island’s allure continues
Saadiyat Island attracted visitors with its beautiful beaches, luxury resorts, and cultural offerings.
This summer, hotels on Saadiyat Island maintained over 65% occupancy, with 73% in August alone. The island saw a 13% increase in summer hotel occupancy compared to 2023, with a 19% rise in international guests.
Mohamed Abdalla Al Zaabi, Group CEO of Miral, expressed excitement over the islands’ success, saying, “We are thrilled with the success Yas Island and Saadiyat Island have achieved this summer.”
He noted that these achievements highlight their commitment to making Abu Dhabi a top global destination for entertainment and culture.
Adding to the excitement, Hollywood star Ryan Reynolds was named Yas Island’s third Chief Island Officer (CIO), boosting the island’s global appeal. Yas Island also collaborated with the Miami Band to release a summer remix of their popular song “AACHAW,” which gained popularity across the GCC.
Throughout the summer, Yas Island hosted numerous events, with Yas Theme Parks offering family-friendly activities and Yas Bay Waterfront featuring fireworks and vibrant dining options. Yas Mall, the largest mall on the island, attracted thousands with exclusive summer promotions and extended shopping hours.
This summer’s success reinforces Yas Island and Saadiyat Island as premier destinations for leisure, entertainment, and luxury, welcoming guests from around the globe.
