Consulate General Dubai has outlined the process for Pakistani citizens in the UAE to apply for a passport for their newborn babies.

Pakistan consulate has provided detailed instructions on the documentation required and the steps to be taken to ensure a smooth and efficient process. The consulate has issued the advisory to facilitate the Pakistani community living in UAE.

Documents required

  • Newborn’s original birth certificate
  • Newborn’s original NICOP with photocopy (front and back)
  • Parents’ original valid passport with photocopy (First and second page)
  • Father and mother’s original valid CNIC/NICOP/smart card with photocopy (front and back side)

The physical presence of one of the parents, along with the newborn baby, is mandatory to get the passport.

If one of the parents is a foreign national, Pakistan Consulate in Dubai will require NOC from the relevant embassy or consulate.

In the case of dual nationality, an original foreign passport and a photocopy are mandatory.

Parents are encouraged to apply for the passport as soon as possible after the child’s birth, as this will help ensure that the passport is ready in time for any travel plans.

There are over 1.6 million Pakistani expatriates in the UAE, and their financial contributions in the form of remittances significantly impact the country’s economy.
