During the 127th Mahzooz draws, an Indian expat and mechanical engineer named Shahabaz living in Qatar became the ninth guaranteed millionaire. The engineer who has actively participated in Mahzooz for two years, found it hard to believe that his fortune has changed on Saturday, 6th May 2023, as the draw unfolded.
“I watched the live draw online along with my friends and was blown away when I saw my name on the screen,” said Shahabaz. Currently studying for her master’s degree in India, Shahabaz’s wife was the first to hear about his victory back home. She immediately called him, and they celebrated over the phone.

Sumair, a 36-year-old Indian Oil & Gas supervisor and father, became Mahzooz’s 41st millionaire after winning Dhs1,000,00 at the 126th draws. Sumair lived in the UAE from 2014 to 2020, where he worked as a consultant until he was laid off due to the pandemic and had to return to India. He started working in Qatar in 2022 but never stopped participating in Mahzooz since 2021.
Sumair frequently works remotely at sea, so he adds Dhs250 to his Mahzooz credit at the start of every week to participate in the draw when he returns from work. His elation at his enormous win was evident in his words: “This is awesome, really awesome, and it comes at the right time as I was seriously considering buying a property. When I informed my wife of my win, she was skeptical at first, but when I sent her a screenshot of my Mahzooz account balance, she believed me,” an elated Sumair comments.
The winner also intends to donate 10% of his windfall to charity.
