Renowned Emirati actor Majid Al Falasi, who was famous for his role “Um Saeed” in Emirati animated TV series Freej, passed away in Dubai. He was 33.
Freej means “neighbourhoud” in Arabic.
Soon after the news of Al Falasi’s death went viral on social media, his fans paid glowing tributes to their favourite Emirati artist and prayed for the departed soul.
Freej was started in 2006 by Mohammed Saeed Harib.
The show, which revolves around the adventures of four senior Emirati women of a secluded neighbourhood in modern-day Dubai, is a hit in the UAE.
The English version of the show is titled the Fun Old Girls.
