Emirates airline has completed 15 years of operations to Los Angeles, one of the busiest routes in its US network.
Since the inaugural flights in 2008, the airline has carried more than 3.5 million passengers across 12,000 flights, and transported a remarkable 252,000 tonnes of cargo, fortifying both travel and trade by facilitating the import and export of various commodities.
Emirates airline Dubai to Los Angeles flights
Los Angeles was the second US city to be serviced by Emirates, and the airline currently operates seven weekly flights using the impressive A380 aircraft, which can accommodate up to 475 passengers and 15 tonnes of cargo.
Notably, the A380 features four cabin classes, including the recently introduced Premium Economy with 56 luxurious cream leather seats. This new class promises enhanced comfort with generous reclining, extra legroom, and an elevated dining experience, catering to passengers with thoughtful and opulent amenities.
Travellers from Mumbai, Delhi, Cairo, Karachi and Riyadh
The route between Dubai and Los Angeles remains a hub for travellers to and from significant locations such as Mumbai, Delhi, Cairo, Karachi, and Riyadh, attracting leisure seekers, students, and business travellers.
Particularly, the route sees a significant influx of travellers from communities in Los Angeles, such as the Armenian and Iranian diasporas, journeying to reconnect with their roots in Tehran and Yerevan.
Additionally, the route is a hotspot for celebrities from the film and music industries, often found in the premium cabins, given Los Angeles’s prominence in the entertainment world.
Cargo transportation
Emirates’ impact extends beyond passengers, actively promoting trade by facilitating cargo transportation. Over 15 years, Emirates SkyCargo has transported over 154,000 tonnes of cargo from Los Angeles, ranging from fresh produce to vital commodities like aircraft parts and medical equipment.

The city also sees a substantial import volume, including apparel, electronics, leather goods, and perishable items like fruits, vegetables, chilled meat, and fish, totaling more than 98,000 tonnes.
