Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has unveiled a series of measures aimed at enhancing transportation convenience for commuters in the bustling Business Bay area.
Business Bay metro station
Direct buses will now connect the Business Bay metro station to various other metro stations, promising seamless journeys for passengers. The move comes as part of RTA’s commitment to improving transit accessibility across the city.
Scheduled to commence from Exit 2 at the Business Bay metro station, these direct bus routes will serve key destinations, including OnPassive station, Mall of the Emirates, Equiti, Mashreq, Al Khail, and Dubai Internet City Stations. This initiative seeks to streamline travel options and facilitate smoother connections for residents and visitors alike.
Four Dubai Metro station
In addition to the introduction of direct bus services, RTA has also announced the reopening of four Dubai Metro stations—OnPassive, Equity, Mashreq, and Energy Metro — by May 28. These stations had been temporarily closed due to adverse weather conditions experienced in mid-April.
Furthermore, RTA is taking proactive steps to ensure passenger safety and comfort by implementing crowd management protocols at Dubai Metro stations, particularly during peak hours. These measures are intended to regulate foot traffic and maintain orderly operations across the transit network.
Recognizing the growing demand for transportation solutions in Business Bay, RTA has expanded its ‘Bus on Demand’ service to cater to the area’s evolving needs. Through the Dubai Bus On Demand app, commuters can request rides on 14-seater buses, enabling efficient and flexible travel within designated zones, including Al Barsha, Al Nahda, Dubai Silicon Oasis, and Business Bay.
Moreover, the app facilitates direct communication between passengers and drivers, enabling swift response times and personalized service delivery. This innovative approach underscores RTA’s commitment to leveraging technology for enhancing urban mobility and ensuring a seamless travel experience for all.
