Landing at DXB? Dubai Airport has a new welcome waiting

Travellers arriving in Dubai or passing through Dubai International (DXB) can take part in a series of welcome activities this month, as Dubai Airports introduces new experiences across Terminal 3.

The August activations cover arrivals, baggage claim and transit areas, with activities aimed at residents returning from summer travel, visitors arriving in Dubai and connecting passengers.

Welcome activities

Mascots from Dubai Police and the General Directorate of Identity and Foreigners Affairs (GDIFA) are welcoming younger travellers, while a local musician is performing in the Arrivals area.

Families and friends can also create personalised welcome signs at a dedicated station using stickers and Dubai-themed decorations.

Passengers continuing their journey by Dubai Taxi can receive complimentary refreshments, cold towels and treats from Mirzam, Emirati District, Emirates Flight Catering and oneDXB partners.

Transit experiences

Transit passengers can watch a live music performance inspired by regional sounds. Complimentary refreshments and treats are also being distributed at transfer desks by Project Chaiwala, Mirzam, Emirati District and Garrett Popcorn.

Michelle Lee, Vice President Brand and Communications at Dubai Airports, said: “DXB is the gateway to Dubai and, for many guests, their first point of connection with the city. From the moment people arrive or travel through the airport, we want those moments to reflect what makes Dubai distinctive: its energy, warmth, diversity and the people who bring the city to life. Whether a guest is returning home or simply spending only a few hours with us between flights, our focus is on turning everyday touchpoints into meaningful, memorable experiences.”

I Heart DXB

Travellers can also take part in the I Heart DXB installation near Gate B28. The interactive display allows guests to upload a selfie and become part of a shared portrait featuring the colours of the UAE flag.

Visitors can also leave handwritten messages and collect limited-edition stickers and pins.

The experiences will run throughout August across Terminal 3 as part of Dubai Airports’ efforts to create a more welcoming experience for passengers at DXB.
