The global paper and stationery markets are expected to reach a combined value of more than $512 billion by 2030, as demand shifts towards sustainable materials, education supplies, creative products and changing workplace needs.

The figures from Fortune Business Insights come ahead of the 15th edition of Paperworld Middle East, which will take place at Dubai World Trade Centre from October 13 to 15, 2026.

Market growth

The global paper industry is forecast to reach $294.53 billion by 2030, while the stationery market is expected to reach $218.12 billion.

The sectors are being shaped by growing demand for sustainable packaging, speciality paper and responsibly sourced materials. Stationery demand is also being supported by spending on education, hybrid working, creative learning and premium consumer products.

Digital technology, sustainability requirements and supply chain changes are also affecting how companies source paper and stationery products.
