Union Coop affirmed its support in the face of reports of earthquakes in parts of Turkey and Syria by offering a discount of 25% on essential and other food and non-food items to individuals and organizations participating in relief efforts and charitable assistance for those affected.

The disaster has impacted numerous households in both countries, and this gesture by Union Coop will provide assistance to those in need.

Union Coop will be offering discounts on essentials such as tents, blankets, mattresses, towels, mats, detergents, food and non-food items, and other basic commodities that can be provided to the victims and their families.

Furthermore, Union Coop is dedicated to fulfilling the requests of relevant authorities in regards to packaging efforts as part of its contribution to humanitarian and charitable endeavors.

The cooperative further noted that this initiative also comes within its national responsibility stemming from Emirati heritage and traditions based on which the UAE community was established.

The cooperative indicated that it firmly believes in making community contributions to achieving the aspirations of the nation and the vision of its wise leadership that believes in supporting community and humanitarian initiatives that are represented by the “spirit of giving.”

Meanwhile, the UAE has airlifted 640 tonnes of relief supplies in a humanitarian operation called “Gallant Knight/2” to aid those affected by the earthquake in Syria and Turkey. The airbridge has carried out 22 flights, including 7 to Syria that carried food assistance and 515 tents.
