The UAE’s Moon-sighting Committee has announced that Sunday, March 30, 2025, will mark the first day of Eid Al Fitr, while today, Saturday, March 29, is the final day of Ramadan.
Abdullah bin Sultan bin Awad Al Nuaimi, the Minister of Justice and Chairman of the Committee, confirmed that after following the Sharia methods for moon sighting and consulting with neighboring countries, the Shawwal crescent was successfully observed. As a result, Sunday, March 30, has been declared the first day of Eid Al Fitr.
Saudi Arabia has announced that Sunday, March 30, 2025, will be the first day of Eid Al-Fitr, following the sighting of the Shawwal crescent this evening.
Eid Al-Fitr is celebrated on the 1st of Shawwal, marking the conclusion of the holy month of Ramadan. Islamic months can be either 29 or 30 days long, depending on the moon sighting. Since the moon was observed today, this Islamic month will be 29 days long.
