Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) will introduce a new intercity bus service — Route E308 — starting May 2, 2025. This route will connect Stadium Bus Station in Dubai to Al Jubail Bus Station in Sharjah, with a one-way fare of Dhs 12.
Improving connectivity
Adel Shakeri, Director of Planning and Business Development at RTA’s Public Transport Agency, emphasized RTA’s ongoing efforts to expand the public transport network. “Enhancing intermodal connectivity is central to positioning public transport as the preferred choice for mobility across the emirate,” he said, referring to better links between buses, metro, trams, and marine transport.
Alongside the launch of Route E308, RTA will introduce changes to several existing bus routes to improve efficiency and convenience:
Route 17: Now ends at Baniyas Square Metro Station instead of Al Sabkha Bus Station.
Route 24: Adjusted routing within the Al Nahda 1 area.
Route 44: Rerouted via Dubai Festival City from Al Rebat Street.
Route 56: Extended to serve DWC Staff Village.
Routes 66 & 67: Now include a stop at Al Ruwayah Farm area.
Route 32C: Service between Al Jafiliya and Al Satwa curtailed; passengers can take Route F27 instead.
Route C26: Stop moved from Al Jafiliya to Max Metro Land Side Bus Stop 2.
Route E16: Now terminates at Union Bus Station instead of Al Sabkha.
Route F12: Section between Al Satwa Roundabout and Al Wasl Park curtailed; now runs via Kuwait Street.
Route F27: Stop relocated to Max Metro Land Side Bus Stop 2.
Route F47: Adjusted routing in Jebel Ali Industrial Area.
Route F54: Extended to cover the new JAFZA South labour camp.
Route X92: Stop moved to Max Metro Land Side Bus Stop 1.
These changes reflect RTA’s broader strategy to improve public transportation by ensuring better coverage, easier connections, and a more comfortable journey for all riders.
