With the Holy Month of Ramadan just around the corner, a recent survey conducted by Audi Abu Dhabi has revealed some intriguing insights into the car-buying plans of the UAE residents. According to the survey, 60 percent of UAE residents are planning to buy a new or used car during this peak season for vehicle sales.

Audi Abu Dhabi partnered with YouGov to conduct the survey, which gathered response from over 1,000 UAE residents aged between 18 to 50 years old.

Among the respondents who are contemplating the purchase of a new vehicle, petrol cars emerge as the top choice, with 33 percent expressing an interest in them.

Electric vehicles

Electric vehicles (EVs) are the second most popular option, with 13 percent of respondents considering them, while 14 percent remain undecided about their preferred type of vehicle.

According to the survey, an increasing number of individuals are expressing interest in electric vehicles (EVs), as 52 percent of the participants reported a preference to purchase an EV as their next vehicle or within the upcoming three years.

However, some potential buyers are hesitant to commit due to concerns related to charging infrastructure and comprehending the complete cost of ownership.

The dealership is planning to expand its collection of electric vehicles by introducing the latest Audi Q8 e-tron, which is the automaker’s flagship electric SUV model.

“The rapid increase in the adoption of EVs in the region aligns with the country’s plans for sustainability,” Audi Abu Dhabi General Manager Mark Austin said.
