Mall of the Emirates to welcome 100 new stores in major expansion

Majid Al Futtaim, the region’s leading shopping mall and lifestyle developer, has unveiled a landmark Dhs 5 billion investment to transform Mall of the Emirates into a next-generation lifestyle destination.

This major redevelopment celebrates the mall’s 20th anniversary and launches its new vision: the “Mall of New Possibilities.”

The transformation will expand the mall’s offering with new retail, wellness, dining, entertainment, and cultural experiences designed to meet evolving customer lifestyles.

New spaces and experiences

As part of the upgrade:

  • 20,000 sq. m of additional retail space will be added

  • 100 new stores in luxury, fashion, and lifestyle will be introduced

  • Over Dhs 1.1 billion has already been committed to active enhancements

New highlights include:

  • SEVEN Wellness Club at Kempinski Hotel, offering premium fitness, spa, and recovery services

  • New Covent Garden Cultural Hub, featuring a 600-seat theatre and rehearsal spaces, developed with Dubai Performing Arts Academy (opening early 2025)

  • A new indoor-outdoor precinct with fast-casual dining and entertainment, including the mall’s first outdoor F&B courtyard opening in early 2027

Next-level entertainment and accessibility

The mall’s entertainment experience is also being reimagined:

  • Four new entertainment concepts launching by late 2026

  • An upgraded VOX Cinemas, now featuring the world’s most advanced IMAX experience

  • A full revamp of the West End district to create a modern social hub

    Infrastructure improvements including:

    • A barrierless Parkin parking system

    • Better access roads and new bridges in collaboration with Dubai RTA (completing by September)

Khalifa Bin Braik, CEO of Majid Al Futtaim Asset Management, said:

Sustainability is a key focus of the redevelopment, with plans to incorporate energy-efficient technologies, smart systems, and eco-conscious design throughout the mall.
