The UAE residents planning their summer holidays can save as much as 40% on travel costs by booking for early July, according to Expedia’s newly released 2025 Summer Travel Outlook.
The report highlights that booking during this window could save travellers over $50 (approx. Dhs 185) per night compared to peak season rates.
Top travel destinations for UAE residents
While travel costs are always a concern, where UAE residents are choosing to go this summer is equally telling. Spain continues to top the list, with Mallorca (+150%), Barcelona (+75%), and Ibiza (+25%) seeing the biggest year-on-year growth in search interest.
Closer to the Middle East, Antalya in Turkey saw a 105% spike in searches. Its mix of beach resorts, historical sites, and affordability makes it an increasingly attractive option for UAE families and couples alike.
Seychelles, Mauritius, Bali
UAE travellers are also showing rising interest in island destinations that blend beach relaxation with cultural immersion. Seychelles (+90%), Mauritius (+55%), and Badung, Bali (+50%) are among the top trending spots, driven by a desire for nature, seclusion, and ‘Instagrammable’ experiences.
What UAE travellers look for?
Expedia’s data suggests a growing appetite for destinations that combine relaxation with exploration—such as cultural festivals, outdoor events, and historic architecture. Cities like Milan and Venice are also trending, offering fashion, heritage, and European flair.
Convenience plays a key role too, with UAE residents favouring locations with direct flights or well-connected routes, especially in Europe and the Mediterranean.

Expedia also shared practical tips to help UAE travellers get more out of their bookings:
