GITEX Global and Expand North Star will relocate to Expo City Dubai starting December 2026, marking a major shift for the region’s flagship technology event.
The move, directed by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum and guided by Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, aligns with the Dubai Economic Agenda D33, which aims to position Dubai among the world’s top three urban economies.
New format, new date
The 2026 edition will take place from December 7 to 11, bringing the event into Dubai’s peak tourism season. A new format called “TechCation” will debut, combining technology exhibitions with citywide lifestyle activations to encourage longer stays for international visitors.
Citywide collaboration
Organisers are working with the Dubai Department of Economy & Tourism and stakeholders across hospitality, wellness, and eco-tourism sectors to create immersive experiences beyond the exhibition floor.
GITEX Scale Summit
The show will open with the new GITEX Scale Summit, a day dedicated to global AI strategies. The following days will spotlight emerging technologies including AI, quantum computing, biosciences, and advanced manufacturing.
The event will be hosted at the Dubai Exhibition Centre in Expo City, which is undergoing a US$2.7 billion expansion to become the region’s largest indoor event venue.
Officials say the change reinforces Dubai’s role as a global tech hub and supports its rise as a preferred destination for investors, digital nomads, and entrepreneurs.
