As part of its commitment to community support and food security, Majid Al Futtaim, the company behind Carrefour in the UAE, has partnered with the UAE Food Bank to provide over 3,300 free meals daily during Ramadan.
This initiative aims to assist those in need, particularly workers, by ensuring they have access to Iftar meals across key locations in the UAE.
Daily meal distribution across Dubai
Through the collaboration, the UAE Food Bank and Carrefour will distribute meals at metro stations, bus stops, and traffic signals in Dubai using “Care Vans.”
These mobile units will also provide dates and water to ensure that commuters can break their fast, even while on the go. Carrefour volunteers will also be part of the distribution efforts, ensuring the smooth operation of the initiative.
The meals will be prepared in partnership with Taya Art Production, a UAE-based SME. In addition to preparing meals, Taya Art Production will produce a Ramadan television series, showcasing the culinary process and promoting sustainable practices such as repurposing surplus food to minimize waste.
