The Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has signed a significant Dhs 6 billion agreement with Dubai Holding to enhance road infrastructure in key areas across Dubai, improving access to popular developments such as Jumeirah Village Circle, Dubai Production City, Business Bay, Palm Jumeirah, and International City (Phase 3).

Faster travel and improved connectivity

The agreement includes major upgrades to internal roads, bridges, and access points, with the goal of reducing travel time by up to 70%. For instance, four new interchanges will be added to Jumeirah Village Circle, doubling the area’s entry and exit capacity and reducing travel time by 70%.

New bridges will improve access to Dubai Production City, cutting travel time by 50%.

In Business Bay, intersections will be improved to help ease traffic flow, while a new pedestrian bridge will ensure better safety. Traffic flow on Palm Jumeirah will also be optimized, with new lanes and pedestrian bridges, reducing travel time by 40%.

Key improvements at International City

The road entering International City (Phase 3) will also be widened, adding an extra lane and enhancing intersections. These changes are expected to reduce travel time from 15 minutes to just 5 minutes.

These upgrades will make travel smoother, faster, and safer for residents and visitors. The expanded roads and new access points will help alleviate congestion, especially in high-traffic areas, and enhance connectivity between key locations across the city.

With the partnership between RTA and Dubai Holding, these infrastructure improvements will benefit everyone, whether you’re commuting to work, heading to a business meeting, or visiting popular attractions in Dubai.
