Union Coop has reported a 25% increase in demand for organic products in 2026, with winter recording the highest sales, as the UAE retailer expands its range.
Union Coop expands organic product range
The retailer offers 33 categories of organic vegetables, fruits and other products through partnerships with 20 organic farms. It receives approximately six tonnes of organic produce daily, sourced from local and international growers and suppliers.
Mohamed Al Hashemi, CEO of Union Coop, said expanding the range and improving product displays remain priorities, alongside efforts to support local farms and maintain competitive prices.
Organic vegetables among popular choices
Organic vegetables are among the retailer’s most popular categories, according to Al Hashemi. Union Coop regularly reviews its product selection, quality and pricing, comparing prices with the wider market to offer shoppers a range of options.
The retailer also uses designated sections, clear product names and organic labels across its branches to help customers identify organic items more easily.
Retailer strengthens ties with UAE farms
Union Coop conducts farm visits to assess products and cultivation methods and check compliance with applicable requirements. It also works with existing and prospective suppliers to introduce new varieties and broaden its network of partner farms.
The retailer said its collaboration with local growers forms part of its efforts to diversify its fruit and vegetable selection and maintain product availability throughout the year.
