The 55th edition of the Watch and Jewellery Middle East Show is drawing strong visitor interest as it continues at Expo Centre Sharjah.

Featuring over 500 exhibitors, the event highlights a broad range of international jewellery and watch brands, and runs until June 1.

Gold-Zilla on display

A major attraction this year is a gold-plated car showcased by Al Romaizan Gold and Jewellery. Dubbed “Gold-Zilla,” the custom vehicle is based on a 2014 Nissan GT-R and is valued at approximately Dhs 3.67 million.

The car features full-body engravings in 24K gold, the result of a collaboration between Japan’s Kuhl Racing and artist Takahiko Izawa. The intricate detailing took more than 2,000 hours to complete, blending automotive design with traditional engraving techniques.

Italian pavilion highlights

Also drawing attention is the Italian pavilion, which spans 708 square metres and hosts nearly 50 exhibitors. The showcase includes a wide range of fine jewellery, from diamond and gold collections to rare gemstones and culturally inspired designs rooted in Italian craftsmanship.

Diverse international presence

This year’s edition includes participants from the UAE, India, Italy, the United Kingdom, the United States, Singapore, China, Japan, Turkey, Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, and Lebanon. Newcomers such as Russia, Mexico, Tanzania, and Egypt are taking part for the first time.

The event remains open to the public on Friday from 3:00 PM to 10:00 PM, and on Saturday and Sunday from 1:00 PM to 10:00 PM.
