UAE developer Azizi Developments has laid the foundation for its first five-star hotel in Dubai, marking the start of a hospitality expansion plan valued at Dhs75 billion.
The project is part of a wider strategy that will see the company develop a large portfolio of hotels across the emirate in the coming years.
Hotel project
The five-star hotel is located within the Azizi Riviera development in Mohammed Bin Rashid City.
According to the company, the project is one of ten hotel developments currently in the design, development or construction stages. The projects are being delivered using the developer’s in-house capabilities across construction and project management.
Hospitality expansion
Under the expansion plan, Azizi Hospitality intends to develop 151 hotels. The portfolio will include 100 four-star hotels, 50 five-star hotels and one seven-star hotel.
More than 90 percent of these projects will be based in Dubai. Once completed, the developments are expected to add about 60,000 hotel rooms to the city’s hospitality sector and create more than 75,000 jobs.
Burj Azizi plan
The portfolio will also include a seven-star hotel within Burj Azizi, a planned tower on Sheikh Zayed Road that is expected to become the world’s second tallest building.
The development is planned as a new luxury hospitality destination as part of the tower project.
Chairman comments
Mirwais Azizi, Founder and Chairman of Azizi Developments, said: “Dubai has consistently proven itself to be one of the world’s most stable, forward-looking and opportunity-rich destinations. The emirate’s leadership has built an environment that inspires confidence among investors and developers, enabling bold projects that contribute to its global standing.”
“Our Dhs 75 billion investment in hospitality reflects our long-term commitment to Dubai and our strong belief in its continued growth as a global tourism hub. Guided by the vision of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, we remain fully aligned with the emirate’s economic and tourism ambitions, helping attract visitors from around the world while reinforcing Dubai’s reputation as a city that continues to set new global benchmarks.”
Training academy
As part of the expansion, the developer also plans to establish the Azizi Hospitality Academy. The training institution will focus on developing hospitality professionals in the UAE and supporting the sector with trained talent.
The company said the investment is intended to support Dubai’s long-term tourism growth by adding new hospitality projects across different segments.
