As global tourism moves into a decade of major change, the Arabian Travel Market (ATM) has revealed that its 2026 edition will focus on how innovation and technology are set to reshape the travel experience by 2040.
Held under the theme “Travel 2040: Driving New Frontiers Through Innovation and Technology,” ATM 2026 will take place from May 4–7, 2026, at the Dubai World Trade Centre (DWTC).
The event will explore how the travel industry is adapting to major shifts in technology, sustainability, and traveller expectations.
Arabian Travel Market 2026
According to the World Economic Forum, the global travel and tourism sector is projected to handle 30 billion tourist visits and contribute $16 trillion to global GDP by 2034. ATM 2026 will serve as a platform for industry stakeholders to examine how AI, immersive digital tools, green aviation, and smart mobility are transforming travel.
“The next ten years and beyond are going to be crucial for the travel and tourism industry,” said Danielle Curtis, Exhibition Director ME, Arabian Travel Market. “We are at a significant turning point where factors such as climate change, digital advancements, and evolving consumer expectations are all coming together to create both challenges and opportunities.”
She added: “By showcasing how innovation can enhance the travel experience, improve operational efficiency, and promote sustainability, ATM 2026 will provide an important platform for the global industry to prepare for what lies ahead, while ensuring the Middle East remains at the forefront of this evolution.”
Technology-driven show verticals
ATM 2026 will expand its format with new and returning show verticals, each addressing key areas of future travel demand:
ATM Travel Tech will debut as a co-located show in dedicated halls, covering AI-powered travel planning, smart payments, fintech, mobility, big data, and cybersecurity.
A new Tech & Innovation Zone will feature an 850 sqm immersive space with robotics, AR/VR, green technologies, and a 250-seat Future Stage for expert talks.
IBTM @ ATM returns in 2026, connecting global MICE (Meetings, Incentives, Conferences and Exhibitions) professionals with the Middle East’s expanding events sector.
The ATM Ultra Luxury Lounge will offer high-net-worth individuals exclusive access to luxury hospitality, private aviation, yachting, and tailored travel services.
Regional travel momentum
The upcoming edition builds on the region’s strong market outlook. The ATM Travel Trends Report 2025 predicts that Middle East travel spend will exceed US$350 billion by 2030, with inbound travel growth expected to nearly double the global average. Demand for business events, luxury travel, and purpose-driven experiences continues to rise.
Curtis noted, “Our show verticals have become vital in showcasing the changing structure of the global travel and tourism industry. Each vertical offers a carefully curated environment where stakeholders can engage more deeply, form meaningful partnerships, and collectively shape the industry’s future to 2040.”
Global platform for collaboration
With over 55,000 professionals from 166 countries attending ATM 2025, the 2026 edition aims to expand its global reach. The event will bring together policymakers, industry leaders, and tech innovators to share solutions and insights that can support a more resilient, sustainable, and inclusive travel sector.
