The Pakistan Civil Aviation Authority (PCAA) has granted Air Karachi a Regular Public Transport (RPT) license, officially permitting the airline to begin operations in the country’s commercial aviation sector.

The move marks a significant milestone for the new private carrier, which has met all regulatory requirements and submitted a comprehensive business plan to the PCAA.

Air Karachi to begin domestic flights

According to PCAA sources, Air Karachi will launch its domestic flight services in the near future, with plans to expand to international routes as part of its long-term strategy.

The airline, backed by prominent business figures from Karachi and an initial investment of Rs 5 billion, will be led by retired Air Vice Marshal Imran, who will serve as CEO.

In its first phase, Air Karachi will lease three aircraft to kick-start its operations, with plans to gradually increase its fleet as the airline expands its services.

Competition and job creation

The entry of Air Karachi into Pakistan’s aviation market is expected to increase competition and improve travel options for passengers. It also comes at a time when there has been a surge in demand for air travel services across the country.

The launch of new private carriers, like Air Karachi, reflects the growing need for improved domestic and international connectivity.

Air Karachi’s management has expressed confidence in their ability to comply with all aviation regulations, ensuring that the airline maintains high standards of safety, reliability, and efficiency for its passengers.

Air Punjab

Pakistan’s aviation sector continues to see significant developments. Recently, Air Punjab, a new airline from the region, also received attention for its plans to enter the market. Much like Air Karachi, Air Punjab seeks to offer more affordable and competitive flight options for both domestic and international routes.

Both airlines are expected to play an integral role in the country’s economic recovery and growth by boosting connectivity, creating jobs, and enhancing travel experiences for Pakistan’s growing middle class.

With Air Karachi’s recent approval and the continued rise of new private carriers, Pakistan’s aviation industry is entering a dynamic phase. These changes are expected to provide passengers with more choices, improve service quality, and contribute to the economic growth of the country.
