The Federal Authority for Identity, Citizenship, Customs, and Ports Security (ICP) has clarified that how much cash and valuables the UAE passengers can carry when entering of exiting the country.
The ICP has called on all passengers arriving in or departing from the UAE to disclose any cash amounts, precious metals, or valuable stones they are carrying that exceed Dhs60,000 or an equivalent amount.

According to the UAE’s cash disclosure system, each family member who is 18 years or above is allowed to carry an amount of cash, precious metals, or stones valued at up to Dhs60,000 or its equivalent when traveling to or from the UAE. This amount can be carried without having to disclose it to the authorities.
However, passengers arriving or departing from the UAE must declare any amounts in excess of the aforementioned limit to the authorities at the ports.
The ICP added that passengers below 18 years of age are not permitted to carry cash or valuable items that exceed the prescribed limit. However, if a legal guardian accompanies the minor, any amounts in the possession of the minor will be added to the guardian’s limit.
In case of non-compliance with the disclosure regulations, the customs authorities impose a fine in accordance with the unified customs law.
