Startups across the GCC have been invited to take part in the upcoming Moscow Startup Summit, set to take place from October 1 to 2, 2025, in Russia’s capital.
Organised by the Government of Moscow in partnership with Sber Bank, the two-day event is expected to attract over 4,000 participants from 25 countries.
Focus on global funding
The summit aims to boost cross-border collaboration and funding by connecting startups with international investors, venture capital firms, and corporate partners. Moscow, home to over 1,600 startups, continues to lead Russia’s innovation sector.
The event will be hosted in Rublyovo-Arkhangelskoe, also known as SberCity, a new smart city district in Moscow. The agenda includes panel talks, exhibitions, and startup showcases.
UAE presence confirmed
A delegation of startups from the UAE will join the summit. Natalia Sergunina, Deputy Mayor of Moscow, said: “Participation in the summit has already been confirmed by international investment funds and startups from 25 countries, including Belarus, China, India, Serbia, Brazil, Türkiye, and the UAE.”
More than 1,700 applications were submitted across Russia, with Moscow leading the submissions. About 270 of the city’s applicants are linked to the Moscow Innovation Cluster.
Spotlight on AI and innovation
Artificial Intelligence is expected to be a key theme, with every third startup applicant competing in the AI category. Alexander Vedyakhin, First Deputy Chairman of the Executive Board at Sberbank, said: “This summit will serve as a platform merging the capabilities of Moscow’s innovation ecosystem with Sber’s infrastructure and expertise in AI to advance technological entrepreneurship and creative economy in the country.”
The event will also feature the Sber500 accelerator’s Demo Day, startup roadshows, and a new Startup Summit Awards ceremony on October 2.
