Snow Abu Dhabi, in collaboration with the Abu Dhabi Sports Council, has revealed the winners of the second edition of the Snow Fun Run.
The event, aimed at encouraging physical activity among children, saw 300 young athletes aged 6 to 14 from 40 nationalities participate in a unique race through real snow.
A challenging race
The event featured a 400-meter racecourse where participants had to complete the course, collect tokens, and race against the clock, all while navigating through real snow. The competition was divided into three age categories: 6-8 years, 9-11 years, and 12-14 years.
The event also offered the opportunity for participants to enter a raffle draw based on the tokens they collected throughout the race.
During the awarding ceremony, the top finishers in each category were presented with trophies by Mohammed Al Mansoori, Assistant Community Events Director at the Abu Dhabi Sports Council. The race highlighted the region’s growing focus on encouraging healthy lifestyles among younger generations.
A focus on community wellbeing
Established in 2024, Snow Fun Run is part of Snow Abu Dhabi’s ongoing efforts to promote wellness and an active lifestyle, particularly for young people. As one of several community initiatives organized by Snow Abu Dhabi throughout the year, the event helps foster an interest in sports and outdoor activities, particularly in winter sports like skiing and snowboarding.
