Wizz Air Abu Dhabi, the ultra-low-fare airline in the UAE, is currently the second-largest carrier in terms of seat capacity in Abu Dhabi. The joint venture between ADQ and Wizz Air Holdings PLC had a record-breaking year, conducting over 6,000 flights and transporting more than 1.2 million passengers in 2022.

The airline carried more than 600,000 point-to-point passengers to the UAE last year, supporting the sustainable growth of Abu Dhabi’s culture and tourism sectors and providing a diverse range of travel opportunities to travelers of all classes.

UAE Tourism Strategy 2031

The airline supports the vision of the Abu Dhabi Department of Culture and Tourism to welcome the world to Abu Dhabi, connecting cultures and inspiring future generations to embark on journeys of creativity and discovery. Wizz Air Abu Dhabi is looking forward to future growth in line with the UAE’s Tourism Strategy 2031, and further solidifying the UAE’s reputation as a top tourist destination.

Wizz Air currently offers flights to 36 destinations in 25 different countries from Abu Dhabi and is planning to accelerate and expand operations further in 2023, providing travelers with cost-effective and unique experiences. The airline is committed to making travel accessible to everyone while contributing to the continued growth of the tourism industry in the UAE.

Recently, Wizz Air Abu Dhabi has doubled the size of its fleet and organization, with a 100% increase from 4 to 8 brand-new A321-neo aircraft. With an average fleet age of 1 year, the airline is meeting its commitment to sustainability by having the lowest environmental footprint in the region.

Wizz Air Abu Dhabi has also introduced a new segment of travel in the UAE, in line with the country’s socio-economic vision, with recent expansions into Central Asia, Maldives, and across the Gulf Region, providing travelers with the option for convenient, self-connecting travel across the wider Wizz Air network via Abu Dhabi.

The airline is continuously developing its UAE network to make travel more accessible to tourists and residents, with the goal of providing hassle-free, point-to-point travel to culturally rich destinations, including vibrant cities and natural paradises.
