Travelling to the UAE is a remarkable experience, but overstaying your visa can lead to unexpected fines. Recent changes have removed the grace period for overstays, and many visitors are now facing penalties without realizing it.
Here’s what you need to know to handle these fines smoothly.
UAE visit visa overstay fine
If you stay in the UAE beyond the allowed period on your visit or residence visa, you will be charged a daily fine of Dhs50. This rule applies to all visitors, regardless of the type of visa you hold. To avoid further complications, it’s essential to address any overstays promptly.
1. Visit the ICP website
Start by navigating to the website of the Federal Authority for Identity, Citizenship, Customs & Port Security. On the homepage, look for and click on ‘Fines and Leave Permits.’
2. Access the fines payment section
You’ll be redirected to a new page. Here, click on ‘Start Service’ within the ‘Fines – Pay Fines – Violations of Entry Permissions or Residences – Pay New Fine’ section.
3. Enter your details
If you were on a residence visa, complete the required fields on the page. If you were on a visit visa, select ‘citizens of certain countries’ and fill out the necessary information.
4. Verify Your Information
After entering your details, click ‘Verify Applicant’ and then ‘Next’ to proceed to the next page.
5. Review your application
Carefully review your application and verify that all details are correct before moving forward.
6. Complete your payment
Finally, you will be directed to a payment page. Pay the fine amount, and once the transaction is confirmed, you will receive a confirmation of payment.
By following these steps, you can efficiently resolve any overstay fines and continue your journey without further issues.
