UAE President’s Cup horse race set for Kazan

The Kazan International Equestrian Complex in Tatarstan, Russia, will host the tenth round of the 32nd edition of the UAE President’s Cup Series for Purebred Arabian Horses on Saturday, August 30.

The event, which attracts top Arabian horses from around the world, is a key part of the UAE’s ongoing efforts to support Arabian horse owners and breeders and promote the global development of Arabian horse racing.

This year’s race will see 16 elite Arabian horses compete in a prestigious Group 1 event over 1,800 meters, with a total prize fund of USD 100,000. Among the strong contenders is Saher, a two-time winner of the UAE President’s Cup in 2021 and 2023. The horse, owned by Edward Mardukhovich, has been one of the standout performers in recent editions.

Other notable participants include Tawfiq, Voskhod Tersk, Medni Maximus, Gargamel, and Snow Storm Tersk, among others. The competition is expected to be fierce, with each horse and owner vying for victory at this significant event.

H.E. Matar Suhail Al Yabhouni Al Dhaheri, Chairman of the Higher Organizing Committee of the UAE President’s Cup Series, emphasized the importance of the UAE–Russia relationship in furthering the success of the Cup. He said, “We take pride in the distinguished UAE–Russia partnership, which has delivered notable successes and inspiring milestones, driving the continuity of this important round of the Cup.”

Al Dhaheri also highlighted the significance of Kazan as a host city for the event. “Kazan has welcomed the UAE President’s Cup in recent years with impressive organization, enthusiastic crowds, and a vibrant atmosphere. We look forward to further building on these achievements, inspiring owners and breeders, and providing opportunities for wider participation,” he added.

The presence of top Russian studs at the event this year further underscores the global prestige of the UAE President’s Cup, which continues to be a driving force in the international Arabian horse industry.
