Talabat has introduced Smart Delivery Boxes on its delivery bikes in Dubai, using digital screens to turn its fleet into mobile advertising platforms.

The initiative comes through a new partnership with advertising technology company Flyby.

Mobile ad solution

The Smart Delivery Boxes feature LED screens that display geo-targeted ads, enabling brands to reach people in real time as bikes move through the city. The technology allows for precise targeting using geo-fencing and provides live campaign performance data through digital dashboards.

The boxes only display ads while in motion, a feature aimed at reducing energy use. Each unit is connected via 4G and 5G networks for cloud-based updates, removing the need for printed materials.

Partner benefits

This system offers businesses a new way to carry out hyperlocal marketing, turning regular delivery routes into measurable media moments. The approach supports Talabat’s wider goal of integrating technology into its operations while promoting sustainable practices.

Pedram Assadi, Chief Operating Officer at Talabat, said: “At talabat, we’re always looking for meaningful, innovative ways to enrich our ecosystem – for riders, partners, and the communities we serve. Through our partnership with Flyby, we are creating smarter, more scalable, and truly immersive brand experiences that seamlessly blend into everyday urban life, bringing brands closer to people in ways that feel natural and impactful.”

Cheyenne Kamran, CEO of Flyby, said: “We’re turning last-mile delivery assets into intelligent media that move with the city. Partnering with talabat, the region’s leading on-demand delivery platform, we’re unlocking a smarter, more connected form of urban engagement.”
