Shary online used car sales and purchase in abu dhabi

The Integrated Transport Centre (ITC) has introduced a new digital service called “Shary” to make buying and selling used cars in Abu Dhabi easier, safer, and fully online.

The announcement was made during GITEX Global 2025.

Safe online process

With “Shary”, people can complete vehicle sale and purchase transactions through a secure online system. There’s no need for cash or to visit any service centres.

The service uses an escrow system, which means the money is held safely until the ownership of the car is officially transferred. Once both the buyer and seller confirm the process is complete, the money is released to the seller.

How it works

Developed in partnership with the “TAMM” digital platform, “Shary” allows users to:

  • Track the transaction step by step

  • Get instant SMS and email updates

  • See all fees clearly before paying

  • Receive money faster through the local banking system

The service is designed to protect both parties and build trust in the used car market.

Part of Abu Dhabi’s smart city goals

Dr Abdulla Hamad AlGhfeli, Acting Director-General of ITC, said: “The launch of ‘Shary’ is an important step forward in digitising Abu Dhabi’s transport and vehicle services. It reflects our commitment to smart solutions that enhance government service efficiency and make life easier for customers. The service also showcases effective public–private collaboration, helping to establish a secure and trusted digital environment that strengthens the emirate’s competitiveness and leadership in delivering innovative services that improve quality of life and support sustainable development.”

The new service supports Abu Dhabi’s wider digital transformation goals and efforts to make public services faster, safer, and more convenient for everyone.
