As the UAE braces for a bout of turbulent weather, the Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation on Friday has issued a directive urging private sector companies to adopt remote work arrangements. The move comes in response to anticipated heavy rainfall, thunderstorms, and hail forecasted to hit the region from Friday evening, March 8, until noon on Sunday, March 10.

In a circular released on Friday, the Ministry emphasized the importance of prioritizing employee safety amidst the adverse weather conditions. Private companies have been advised to implement flexible working patterns and take all necessary precautions to ensure the well-being of their workforce.

According to the UAE’s Met Department, the inclement weather may lead to flooding in certain areas, with strong winds potentially causing reduced visibility on roadways. The most severe conditions are expected to occur from midnight on Friday until midnight on Saturday.

This proactive approach from the Ministry underscores the government’s commitment to safeguarding the welfare of workers and mitigating the potential risks associated with the unpredictable weather patterns in the region.
