Skydive Dubai marked its 15th anniversary with new milestones that underline its role in shaping the emirate’s adventure sports landscape, including a world-first BASE jump carried out from a powered airship.
Track record growth
Over the past 15 years, Skydive Dubai has welcomed visitors from more than 100 countries and completed over 475,000 tandem jumps. The operation has also hosted more than 100 celebrities and VIPs and facilitated over 300 sky-high proposals. Its team now includes 95 instructors representing 35 nationalities.
Beyond tandem skydives, the company’s Desert Campus continues to serve as a training hub for solo skydivers, offering Accelerated Freefall (AFF) courses and hosting national teams and visiting professionals.
Skydive Dubai has also supported numerous aerial showcases and technical projects involving balloons, formations, wingsuits and landmark buildings. Its teams have delivered more than 200 brand collaborations and regularly work with Dubai’s Department of Economy and Tourism on major visibility campaigns.
“Marking 15 years is a significant milestone for us, reflecting our journey in helping dreams quite literally take flight. Across the Palm Dropzone, the Desert Campus and our wider ecosystem, we have seen how Skydive Dubai contributes to Dubai’s reputation for distinctive, world-class experiences. The legacy of rising above the ordinary is evident in every skydive and every project, each one raising the bar even higher. Our commitment to safety, disciplined operations and continuous innovation remains central to how we welcome people into the sport and support Dubai’s standing as a leading destination for adventure and aerial pursuits,” said Mohammad Javad, Executive Vice President of Leisure at Shamal Holding.
World-first stunt
As part of its latest project with Dubai Shopping Festival, a female skydiver completed a world-first BASE jump from a powered airship while seated on a purpose-built wooden swing 1,000 feet above the city. She remained suspended for six hours, travelling routes of up to 14 km, including a leap over Kite Beach. The stunt adds to the company’s record of visually striking aerial projects.
Expanding ecosystem
Skydive Dubai’s wider offerings include Inflight Dubai, an indoor skydiving facility used for both training and recreation, and Gyrocopter by Skydive Dubai, which provides two-seater scenic flights along the coastline.
The company says its continued focus on safety, expertise and operational standards has positioned Dubai as a key destination for skydiving and aerial sports, attracting both first-time jumpers and experienced athletes.
