Etihad Airways, the national airline of the UAE, has introduced its state-of-the-art premium lounges at the new Terminal A of Abu Dhabi International Airport.
The airline’s historic first commercial flight from Terminal A took off on October 31, and the new lounges have been unveiled ahead of the airline’s full transition to the terminal, scheduled between November 9 and 14.

Etihad’s newly revealed lounges occupy three floors on the north side of Terminal A, nestled between Piers C and D. These First and Business Class lounges offer a wide range of dining options, relaxation spaces, and entertainment areas designed to cater to the diverse needs of their esteemed guests.
Antonoaldo Neves, Chief Executive Officer of Etihad, expressed, “When designing the Etihad Lounges in our new home, Terminal A, our teams thought through every detail, ensuring an experience that will delight our guests from the moment they step through the door. The lounge is a hugely important aspect of our guests’ journey, and we wanted to curate an impressive experience that will leave them wanting to fly again soon.”
Access and amenities for passengers
Etihad’s premium lounges are accessible to guests flying in Etihad’s The Residence, First, and Business Class, as well as Etihad Guest members with eligible tier status. Economy class passengers interested in enjoying the exclusive lounge space can purchase access to Etihad’s Business Lounge, subject to availability.
The lounges are conveniently located with access to three gates, providing direct lounge boarding on select flights, allowing passengers in premium cabins to board directly from the lounge for added convenience and speed.
Business class lounge dining experiences at Terminal A
The Business Class lounge features an array of dining experiences, including the informal, all-day dining restaurant, Liwan Global Dining. Here, guests can enjoy live cooking stations, Emirati and Middle Eastern cuisines, and international favorites inspired by the destinations Etihad serves. The Roof Lounge, available during select periods, offers an international buffet of hot and cold dishes.
For those seeking lighter fare, multiple stations across the lounge provide a selection of snacks and hot and cold beverages. The Constellation Bar within the Roof Lounge is adorned with a bespoke glass lighting sculpture, offering a wide selection of cocktails, mocktails, wines, and beverages, destined to become a destination for frequent travelers.
Relaxation rooms and family area
Within the lounges, passengers can relish expansive runway views from the East and West Study, perfect for watching aircraft take off or land. The Relaxation Rooms provide private spaces with day beds and plush Armani Casa furnishings, while a Games Room offers entertainment with table football, air hockey, and digital gaming options.
Families are also a priority for Etihad, and a specially designed Family Room is equipped with games, toys, and books to keep young travellers entertained. Additionally, plush Chesterfield sofas offer comfort in the Smoking Lounge for cigarette and cigar enthusiasts, while thoughtfully designed prayer rooms feature ensuite ablution areas for convenience and comfort.
Rooftop Lounge
The exclusive First Lounge boasts a dedicated reception lobby for Etihad’s most premium guests and a private elevator to access the Rooftop Lounge on the top floor. The First Lounge Dining Room provides an elevated dining experience with à la carte dining and a fine wine selection recommended by in-house experts, reflecting the best of Emirati gastronomy and Etihad’s served destinations.
In The Parlour for First customers, a selection of pastries, desserts, and a signature tea experience await in an elegant setting, including various tea ceremonies and a signature coffee presentation. First-class Private Suites are available for guests to work, relax, and dine in complete privacy, with complimentary access for guests flying in The Residence and booking options for all other First-class lounge guests.
Chauffeur services
For premium guests arriving in Abu Dhabi with pre-booked chauffeur services, Etihad offers the Etihad Chauffeur Lounge. Here, passengers can shower, refresh, or enjoy a quick snack or drink before meeting their chauffeur.
