Emirates is preparing for a busy travel period ahead of and during the Eid Al Fitr holiday, with high numbers of passengers expected to fly in and out of Dubai.

The busiest departure dates for Terminal 3 will be on March 28 and 29, and April 5 and 6 , with over 80,000 travelers daily.

Expect congestion at Terminal 3

Emirates advises travelers to allow extra time due to potential traffic congestion at Terminal 3. Customers are encouraged to plan ahead to avoid delays.

Travellers are advised to arrive at the airport up to 3 hours before their flight and to check their boarding times to ensure they reach the gate on time.

Convenient Check-In options

Emirates offers several check-in options, including:

  • Online check-in via emirates.com or the Emirates App, available 48 hours before departure.
  • Emirates City Check-in and Travel Store at ICD Brookfield Place, open 24 hours to 4 hours before flight (except for U.S. flights).
  • Home check-in services.
  • Check-in kiosks and baggage drop at Terminal 3.

Travellers from the northern Emirates can check in at the Ajman Central Bus Terminal, from 24 hours to 4 hours before their flight.

Drop off luggage early

Passengers can drop off their luggage the night before travel at no extra charge or check in early, 24 hours before departure, or 12 hours before for U.S.-bound flights. This allows for quicker processing through immigration or the Smart Tunnel.

Boarding guidelines

Passengers should clear security and passport control at least 90 minutes before departure. For Premium Economy or Economy Class, it’s recommended to reach the gate 60 minutes before takeoff, while First or Business Class passengers should arrive 45 minutes ahead. Boarding gates close 20 minutes before the flight departs. Emirates will not accept late passengers.
