Emirates has partnered with OpenAI to expand the use of artificial intelligence across the airline’s operations.
The collaboration will see enterprise-wide deployment of ChatGPT Enterprise, supported by AI literacy programmes, technical exploration, and executive alignment.
AI integration
The partnership aims to embed AI capabilities across Emirates’ business, identifying opportunities for practical use cases and establishing an internal AI Centre of Excellence. Teams will develop an AI champion network to support adoption across the organisation.
Ali Serdar Yakut, Executive Vice President IT at Emirates, said, “We see enormous potential for AI technology to support our business requirements, helping us tackle complex commercial challenges, strengthening our operations, and enhancing the customer experience. Closely working with OpenAI will make our technology investments both strategic and scalable, enabling us to deliver enhanced value to our employees and customers, fundamentally changing how we innovate, deliver value, and maintain our competitive edge in the industry.”
Rod Solaimani, Regional Director, MENA & Central Asia at OpenAI, said, “Emirates Group has laid out a bold vision for how AI can transform the future of aviation. With this collaboration, we’re proud to help them bring that vision to life – embedding intelligence across their operations, empowering teams with powerful new tools, and reimagining the travel experience for millions of customers.”
Collaboration details
The two companies will jointly explore AI applications, run leadership sessions, and provide executives with insights into OpenAI’s product roadmap. Technology teams will focus on rapid prototyping, sandbox testing, and best practices for deploying generative AI solutions.
Emirates said the initiative will allow early access to emerging AI research and participation in innovation projects, supporting scalable solutions that benefit travellers, the airline’s operations, and the wider industry.
