Eid in UAE: Dubai announces free public parking, metro timings

Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has announced special operating hours for its services during the upcoming Eid Al Fitr holiday, from Saturday, 29 March to Tuesday, 2 April 2025.

The city will also offer free parking during this period, providing convenience for residents and visitors. Regular operations will resume on Wednesday, 3 April.

Free parking in Dubai on Eid

In celebration of Eid Al Fitr, all public parking across Dubai will be free of charge, with the exception of multi-level parking terminals.

This free parking initiative will be available from 1 to 3 Shawwal, allowing residents and visitors to enjoy hassle-free parking during the holiday. Paid parking fees will be reinstated on 4 Shawwal.

Public transport timings

Dubai Metro’s Red and Green Line stations will operate with adjusted hours during the holiday. The following is the schedule:

  • Saturday, 29 March: 5:00 AM to 1:00 AM (next day)

  • Sunday, 30 March: 8:00 AM to 1:00 AM (next day)

  • Monday, 31 March to Wednesday, 2 April: 5:00 AM to 1:00 AM (next day)

Dubai Tram will be available as follows:

  • Saturday to Monday, 29 to 31 March: 6:00 AM to 1:00 AM (next day)

  • Sunday, 30 March: 9:00 AM to 1:00 AM (next day)

RTA Service Centre timings

During the holiday period, RTA’s Customer Happiness Centres will be closed from 1 to 3 Shawwal. However, Smart Customer Happiness Centres located at Umm Ramool, Deira, Al Barsha, Al Kifaf, and RTA Headquarters will continue to operate 24/7 as usual.

Other transport services

For details on the service timings of Dubai’s public buses, Hatta Bus, and marine transport services (including Water Taxi, Dubai Ferry, Abra, and electric heritage Abra), passengers are encouraged to check the S’hail app or visit the official RTA website.

Note: Bus Route E100 from Al Ghubaiba Bus Station will be out of service from the afternoon of 28 Ramadan until 3 Shawwal, and passengers are advised to use Route E101 from Ibn Battuta Bus Station to Abu Dhabi. Additionally, Route E102 will be suspended during the same period.

Residents and visitors are advised to plan their travel accordingly and make use of the free parking and adjusted transport schedules during the festive period.
