Dubai Studio City will get a new 144-bed multi-specialty hospital by 2029, expanding access to cancer treatment, cardiac care, surgery and specialist medical services for residents.
New Medcare hospital planned for Dubai Studio City
Aster DM Healthcare is investing approximately Dhs 350 million to develop Medcare Royal Hills Hospital in partnership with UAE-based MENASCO.
The hospital will have 144 beds, six operating theatres and a range of specialised medical services. It is expected to begin operations by 2029.
The project will expand Medcare’s healthcare network in Dubai, bringing specialist treatment and advanced diagnostic facilities closer to residential communities.
The development is part of Aster DM Healthcare’s plan to invest more than Dhs 1 billion in the UAE over the next five years.
Cancer treatment and specialist care under one roof
A major feature of the new hospital will be its comprehensive oncology centre, offering cancer screening, diagnosis, treatment and follow-up care.
Services will include medical, surgical and radiation oncology, supported by technologies such as PET-CT scanning, linear accelerators (LINAC), gamma scanning, iodine therapy and chemotherapy.
The hospital also plans to introduce a dedicated breast care diagnostic and treatment unit, alongside an apheresis unit. Bone marrow transplantation is included in its longer-term plans.
Other specialised services will cover cardiology, cardiac surgery, neurology, neurosurgery, spine care, immunology and haematology.
Emergency, maternity and children’s services
The hospital will offer a range of services for families, including paediatrics, gynaecology and a dedicated paediatric intensive care unit.
Its maternity facilities will include a labour, delivery and recovery suite with a water birth unit.
The emergency department will have 18 observation beds and facilities to manage medical and surgical emergencies, including trauma cases.
Additional services will include endoscopy, sleep studies, advanced critical care and robotic-assisted surgery.
Hospital to expand Medcare’s Dubai network
Medcare Royal Hills Hospital will have a gross floor area of approximately 239,000 sq. ft. and a built-up area of around 430,000 sq. ft.
The partnership agreement was signed by Alisha Moopen, Managing Director and Group CEO of Aster DM Healthcare, and Bahaa H. Badawiyeh, CEO of MENASCO.
Commenting on the development, Alisha Moopen said: “Medcare’s growth has always been guided by one clear purpose: to bring high-quality healthcare closer to the people and communities we serve. Our partnership with MENASCO is an important step in expanding Medcare’s footprint in Dubai and making advanced specialised and tertiary care more accessible. Medcare Royal Hills Hospital will bring together leading clinical expertise and advanced technology, giving patients access to world-class healthcare closer to home, a great extension of the services that we provide through existing 12 clinics that we operate in the area as a group.”
Medcare currently operates six hospitals and 26 medical centres across its network. The new development will further expand its specialist healthcare capacity in Dubai.
