Dusit International, a leading hospitality brand, has announced plans for significant expansion, aiming to open 10 new properties across the globe in 2024.
With 57 operational hotels and 60 more under construction, the company is set to double its presence in the coming years.
Mr. Prateek Kumar, Senior Vice President – Operations at Dusit International, highlighted the strategic approach behind the expansion.
“We choose our destinations and partners very carefully,” he told Dubai Newsweek at the Arabian Travel Market (ATM) which was held at Dubai’s World Trade Centre from May 6 to 9, 2024, emphasizing the importance of aligned values and meaningful associations.
“Last year saw the opening of 10 hotels, including notable ventures in Japan, Nepal, Kenya, and Greece. The brand’s debut in Europe with a property in Athens marked a significant milestone. Looking ahead, Dusit International is set to open its first hotel in India and relaunch its iconic property, Dusit Thani Bangkok, commemorating 75 years of the brand’s legacy,” Mr. Kumar said.
Reopening of Dusit Thani Bangkok
“The upcoming reopening of Dusit Thani Bangkok represents a significant investment, boasting super luxury amenities and a prime location overlooking Lumpini Park. The property aims to redefine hospitality standards with its luxurious accommodations and modern facilities,” he added.
Expanding its footprint in the Middle East, Dusit International currently operates eight properties in the region, with plans for further growth in Oman, Bahrain, Kuwait, and Saudi Arabia. The recent opening of its first hotel near Riyadh marks the brand’s entry into the Saudi market, with future expansions planned in Jeddah.
Dubai, GCC are key markets
“The GCC and the Middle East are key priority areas for our growth strategy. Currently, we have eight operational properties in this region, with four hotels in the UAE alone. We are confident that we can double our presence here, aiming to have between eight to ten properties in the UAE within the next three to five years,” Mr. Kumar said.
Mr. Kumar remains optimistic about Dubai’s future as a destination, emphasizing its ongoing reinvention and surpassing of previous achievements. He highlighted Dubai’s unparalleled infrastructure and diverse attractions, expressing confidence in its sustained growth in the coming years.
“We are keeping busy with 57 hotels operational and more in the pipeline,” stated Mr. Kumar. The company plans to double its presence in the UAE, with a focus on Dubai.
He also shared plan to start operations from Ras Al Khaimah, capitalizing on the emirate’s thriving hospitality sector.
Additionally, Dusit International is venturing into North Africa, exploring opportunities in Tunisia and Morocco. In Asia, Dusit International remains committed to expanding its presence in China, the Philippines, Vietnam, and Malaysia.

Reflecting on sustainability initiatives, he said that Dusit International prioritizes environmental responsibility and community engagement. From reducing plastic waste to supporting local farming communities, the brand emphasizes purpose-driven sustainability efforts.
In addition to job creation, Dusit International invests in education through its Dusit College, nurturing future leaders in the hospitality industry.
