The Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) in Dubai will hold its 79th online auction for exclusive vehicle number plates, offering a selection of 350 distinct plates.
These will feature three, four, and five-digit combinations, available for private vehicles, classic cars, and motorcycles.
Registration and auction details
The auction will feature plates with codes ranging from H to Z, including categories such as H, I, J, K, L, M, N, O, P, Q, R, S, T, U, V, W, X, Y, and Z. Registration for the auction will open on Monday, May 19, 2025, and will remain open for five days. The live auction is scheduled to begin on Monday, May 26, 2025.
Auction requirements
Participants must have a valid traffic file in Dubai to bid in the auction. A security cheque of Dhs 5,000, along with a non-refundable participation fee of Dhs 120, is required to register. Payments can be made at RTA’s Customer Happiness Centres in Umm Ramool, Al Barsha, and Deira, or online via credit card at www.rta.ae.
Payment instructions
Successful bidders must complete their payment within 10 working days of the auction’s close. Payment options include cash (for amounts up to Dhs 50,000), certified cheque, or credit card (for amounts over Dhs 50,000). Transactions can also be completed through Customer Happiness Centres or the RTA website.
The auction will provide an opportunity for vehicle owners to acquire highly sought-after number plates, adding a distinctive touch to their vehicles.
